Social Media Specialist

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Design and implement social media strategy to align with business goals
  • Create, schedule, and analyze all the social media updates that are sent to the IRIS CARBON social media profiles
  • Create paid marketing campaigns on social to help us reach more customers
  • Create actionable plans to both grow and maintain followers through popular social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and LinkedIn
  • Oversee day-to-day management of campaigns and ensure brand consistency
  • Facilitate scaling brand and company awareness through various social media channels
  • Work with Sr. Marketing Manager and Digital Marketing Specialist to create and implement social media strategies
  • Ensure progress on all platforms by using analytical tools such as Google Analytics and others
  • Oversee the creation and implementation of the weekly social media calendar which includes monthly objectives and initiatives
  • Ensure brand consistency in copy through tone, voice, and terminology
  • Facilitate scaling brand and company awareness through various social media channels
  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
  • Communicate with followers and respond to queries in a timely manner
  • Develop a social listening program for the brand to stay on top of the latest happening in the world of financial reporting
  • Track events and conferences to keep respective teams informed.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • 4+ years of professional content curation and social media management experience
  • Ability to engage with key stakeholders including the leadership team regularly
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video)
  • Clear, effective communicator- verbally and in writing with the ability to be persuasive
  • Proven track record of growing and retaining social audiences
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research, and key tools like Google Analytics, Hootsuite or Buffer or Publer, or Zoho Social
  • Excellent grammar, punctuation, and spelling skills
  • Experience/consistent performance in a deadline-oriented environment due to tight time restraints and the volume of work
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and juggle priorities
  • Ability to analyze and present content and social media performance
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively with peers in a cross-functional capacity
  • Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office and graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Suite


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related discipline
